Areas of Expertise
Reconstruction of Facial Skin Cancers
This is a major focus of my practice. I truly enjoy helping patients overcome their fears and anxieties after having a skin cancer removed from their faces. Each patient's problem is different and requires a personalized approach. I perform both in-office reconstruction and major reconstructive procedures in the operating room. I have been recently invited to author a textbook on facial reconstruction to be published in 2020.
Revision Facial Reconstruction
Many patients feel that once they've had a procedure that is the end of what is possible. This is not true. Deformity and noticeable scars can be refined and improved. The goal should be "back to normal" with no traces.
Maxillofacial Trauma
I am experienced at reconstructing the bony facial skeleton. I am currently utilizing state-of-the-art computer modeling and new instrumentation to make these surgeries more precise and more minimally invasive. The goal for these repairs is exact restoration and no scars.
Rhinoplasty, Nasal Reconstruction
Rhinoplasty is often described as the most complicated facial plastic surgery. This complexity is what drew me to this field. Reshaping or building a nose is my specialty. Revision rhinoplasty makes up the bulk of my practice.
My Approach
Every patient is unique. This requires a unique and creative solution for each individual person or problem. I listen to the goals of each patient carefully and then explain what is technically possible to come up with a surgical plan together.
For reconstruction our goal is always to restore what has been damaged or altered. My goal for the patient is to "make it look like it never happened." While this is not always possible, I will continue to work and to push the envelope until we are as close as possible to erasing the signs of cancer or trauma.
